Following the success of our inaugural ‘TeachMeet’ last year, we are in the process of organising our second ‘TeachMeet’ at Durrington High School. A TeachMeet is a free, informal conference for teachers, by teachers. It consists of a programme of micro-presentations, each one being no longer than 7 minutes. It is about hearing stories about learning, from teachers. This is not an event to present about a product or theory – this is a chance for teachers from all types of establishments to hear ideas from each other. Real narratives of classroom practice that make a difference. It is about being engaged and inspired by our immediate colleagues and of course also provides a great networking opportunity.
The event is on the 20th June, but we already have around 60 colleagues registered to attend and 7 presenters confirmed.
As well as a wide range of presentations from teachers, we will also be having a Keynote speech from Stephen Drew, Headteacher at Brentwood County High School, formerly Deputy Head at the Passmores Academy, as seen on the Channel 4 series, ‘Educating Essex’. There will also be a free buffet and a free prize draw, with the first prize of an iPad, thanks to our sponsor JSPC computers.
Further details (including details of confirmed presenters) can be found here:
This is a great opportunity to network and share best practice.
